Our Vision

THERE IS LIFE IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST

Our Vision statement is found in Isaiah 60:1-3:

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

This Old Testament prophecy about the Messiah and God's covenant community has been fulfilled through Jesus Christ.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5

In response, we’ve modeled our Mission (what we do) after the New Testament Church birthed on Pentecost.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47

In this example we find two primary places of ministry – the temple (Worship) and homes (Life Groups). At Arise Church, we place a high value on gathering for corporate Worship on Sunday and Life Groups in homes during the week.
